Learn the Bones 2
For Massage Therapy Students
& Health Care Students
A Video Series

Previous Learn the Bones                                  Learn the Bones 3 Next

Take a look at the following educational videos covering the Appendages or Appendicular portion of the Skeleton.  Find the educator that connects with you and watch their videos multiple times.  Open the video in full screen mode and pause the video on slides or sections you want to take time to study.  You can also slide the video forward from pause to see progression in slow motion allowing time for study.

We have included "Learning Resources" and "Knowledge Check Points", with labeling exercises and quizzes from various sources. Break up a study session by testing your retention.  It will take practice and time to learn your bones and bony landmarks.

Get Massage Smart does not validate the accuracy of the videos presented here.  We provide them for their educational value.  We have provided notation of any errors that we have found.  If you find an error that we have not notated please send us a message via our contact page.

Note: When Dr. Parker refers to the capitulum and trochlea on the distal anterior surface of the humerus she mistakenly says that the ulna articulates with the capitulum when it actually articulates with the trochlea.  She also indicates that the radius articulates with the trochlea when it actually articulates with the capitulum.  The ulna's trochlear notch articulates with the trochlea.

Note: The static image presented in this lesson is of a female pelvis.  The female pelvis has about a 100 degree subpubic angle, where as the male pelvis has about a 90 to 70 dgree subpubic angle.  That is the angle from the Pubic Symphysis and Pubic Bone in relation to the Ischium bone. The female pelvis is wider than the male pelvis.  If your studies require that you have a greater understanding of the variances between the male and female pelvis please watch the 3D Anatomy Lyon presentation on the Pelvis below. Most massage therapy students will not require such an detailed study. Unless your Anatomy Geeks like us!
